About Us
Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. While the 2020 Girl Up Summit was virtual, it was a great opportunity for many young ambitious women all across the globe to attend. A team of young ambitious women were able to exchange ideas in the chat rooms. We came to a consensus that we wanted to make a change and to empower other young women. It started with discussing ideas and brainstorming as a group. Not long after that, we started to hold zoom meetings and structure our organization. By having long conversations, discussions, and critically examining all the ideas the founding members suggested, we reached a common ground. Girl Up International: Women Online was born out of a pursuit to inspire and support our global community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established in 2020, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support. Contact us to learn more and get involved.

The General Assembly (GA) is all of the members who come to our virtual meetings and contribute to the Girl Up IWO community. Join our meetings to engage in deep conversations about women's equality, plan events, and meet new people. Our meetings are every other Saturday!
